I teach literature and writing courses with the conviction that extensive reading is a keystone to learning a language well. “You are what you read.” Learning English through extensive reading enables learners to understand both language skills and cultural essence, and has become a worldwide trend that emphasizes both skill-based and content-based language teaching. In my student-oriented classes, I encourage students to express their opinions inspired by the readings, exchange ideas with peers, and produce critical responses. My own research interests are miscellaneous: American literature, contemporary novels and movies, satiric literature, magical realism, annotated translation of Mark Twain and Lewis Carroll, etc.
