Publication date: 1961

It have about 7 different and independent tales, there have "The Gorgon's Head", "The Golden Touch" and "Pandora and the Box"etc.

Summary:

"The Golden Touch".It said that long time ago, the king Midas with his little daughter Marygold lived in the castle. Midas was much loved gold more than anything else, he has a special ability what he toughed will turn to gold. One day, he had toughed his daughter careless..

Then, I'm very concerned the story is "The Gorgon's Head" which it is my favorite and attract my eyes. In the beginning, Perseus, who and his mother put into the small chest and floated out to the water, was a little boy to go to the other island, Seriphus. Fortune had favorite him and his mother. They had met the good and kind fish man who looked after them. Day by day, the island of ruler decided to send him a danger errand which had to kill the most strange and terrible monsters. It had teeth liked tiger's tusks, poisonous tongue and huge wings that shone bright and dazzling in the sun and every feather was made of gold, that's the king want to it. But the worst danger is if anyone looked them in the face he was immediately turned to stone. But fortunately, he got the help in the Mercary and Athene. Being successful get the gold feather, but the king thought that wasn't enough who want to see the Medusa's head and order again. Perseus had brought it came back and the worst matter was happening to the king.

Critique:

I have read my funny story book during my happy holiday, my personal critique is this story book more interesting and easier than my mythology. The words and sentences is very friendly for me that it made me clearly understand what is talking about, it had to push forward me and keeping reading the book, and it besides have some a kind of special or different word to translate in Chinese meaning and phonetic, it can let student know the meaning, so we don't need to puzzle the word. What a useful book it is. Finally, I think it can attracted more people to read it.
