As a senior student, I had plenty of experiences about most of situations when it comes to studying in our department. There are some tips I might help you getting through the rest of your college life easier.First, you don’t have to worry too much about being failed. I’ve never worried about getting flunk during these three years and a half. It’s not because I’m a hard working student who takes crazily lots of notes and reviews it after class. (Well, actually, I’m not even close to that.) It’s because teachers are so nice that it’s really difficult to give an F sometimes but some students use this kindness as a chance. I remember that when I was a freshman, I hadn’t realized this yet, so I studied for every single exam or pop quiz. However, some of my classmates who didn’t even show in the class for like the whole semester except for the mid-term and final, they still survived with a D. Then I knew that even that kind of students could survive. I definitely will.Second of all, since I knew the thing I mentioned, I never pay much attention about the scores and the rank on the grade card the school sends me every semester. The standard of each teacher is different. Take the grammar class as an example. It usually divides the class into two groups, teaching by different teachers. Group A’s students always had the higher grades. The average grade was about 85. In group B, the student with the highest grade was only around 85. So, it’s meanless to compare grades and ranks. Those numbers don’t mean anything. The important thing is what you’ve learn from the class. At last, I want to tell you is that.PLAY HARD. These four years might be the last chance to be a school student. Therefore, I suggest you to play as hard as you can. It doesn’t mean that you put your school work aside. You play hard no matter in the school clubs or outside of school with friends but also when the mid-term or final comes, you still arrange time to study. Carpe diem, my school sister/ brother.Since you still have few years in school, setting up a goal for your future as soon as possible is better for you. Walking towards your goal from now, you will find it much easier when you’re a senior student like me. Have fun in Soochow .Diana
