As freshmen, you’ve experienced one semester. Everything still seems “fresh” and “fun,” but there is one thing which is never fun-been flunked. And I think this is a very important lesson for every freshman to learn. Been flunked doesn’t mean that you are a bad student. Why would I say so is because when in senior high school, once you’ve been flunked, you would also been post a “bad student” or a “bad grades” mark. And it would be very hard for you to get rid of it.

In university it is quite normal for students who fail any subject. Even good students will fail some subjects they take. But you may think it is weird for good students to fail courses. And that’s the point I’m talking about. Since good students will fail subject, then why shall we worry about been flunked? (I supposed that we are”normal” student) Of course, been flunked is never a good thing for students. But if we kept worried about that, we’ll get too much pressure to see the original face of courses. Take myself for example, I used to worry about I would fail some subjects, and I kept worried about that, and then I couldn’t get good sleep. All I thought was “Oh my god, I’ll fail this subject.” In the end, I recalled the whole semester, I found out I didn’t remember what I had learned from the subject. All I could remember was my worries.

Of course I’m not encourage you fail your subjects. It’s just don’t put too much time on worry been flunked. Instead, put more attention on that subject. And I always believe if you put your attention on the subject, it is really hard to be flunked. In case, it happens, don’t worry too much. You still have time to retake that course. Just remember two things, first, to investigate professors whose courses are hard to pass. Second, always get ready to be flunked.
