My fellow freshmen, I want to give my congratulation to all of you, that after years of painstaking preparation, you finally survived through the college entrance exam battlefield. No matter what department you are in, I believed most of you made a great choice for yourself. Although sometimes things are not going in your way, the joy of learning in certain field sometimes comes after plunging yourself in. So make sure you choose what you love, if not, try to love what you choose.

Apart from that, if you are an outgoing person, it will be extremely difficult to find a balance between maintaining friendship or your waistline. Because college students like to pig out so much even they are not hungry at all. The ultimate goal of finding a restaurant or fast food joint is not about eating, but gossiping. And gradually, by the power of your untimely observation, you will find how full your stomach is and how empty your conversation can be. Worst of all, putting food in your mouth will become a natural mechanism as you are gossiping, just like you breathe air as you live. The only way to prevent this disaster is to exercise regularly, or your weight is very likely to balloon.

Another issue I would like to point out is handling relationship. Some of you might have a chance to get involved in romance. Whether it is a boy going after a girl, a girl after a boy, or a boy after a boy, love is what it takes. We laugh with it and sometimes we cry with it, but always remember, even if we broke up with somebody, do not only judge the relationship by the end, but the whole part of it. The frustration may give you a hard time for a little while, but the good old time will stay with you for the rest of your life.

Finally, I just want to remind all of you that being responsible for yourself. If you found a part time job, make sure you still have part of your time for studying. If you had a boyfriend or girlfriend, make sure he or she will not be the reason for cutting class. If you got flunk, make sure you compensate for the credit and graduate in time. All these scenarios happened to me and they are certainly not good traditions passing down to you. I wish all of you have a fabulous college life and blossom into a well-round grownup.
